Liposuction
Liposuction, also known as Lipoplasty or body contouring, is a surgical procedure that removes stubborn fat deposits from specific areas of the body, enhancing its shape and proportion.
During a consultation with Dr. Forouzanpour, you will share your concerns and talk openly about your vision. He will take the time to understand your goals, look through photos of previous procedures to understand realistic results and craft a personalized procedure designed just for you.
It’s important to note that liposuction is not a substitute for weight loss but rather a means to address stubborn fat deposits that do not respond to traditional weight-loss methods. As with any surgical procedure, there are potential risks and complications, so it’s essential to consult with a qualified cosmetic surgeon to determine if liposuction is appropriate for you.

Your Consultation
Dr. Forouzanpour will assess your overall health and dietary and physical activity history, skin elasticity, and areas of concern such as stretch marks, hernias, and the amount of fat that will be removed, type of anesthesia, scar sizes and locations, and rare risks to determine if you are a good candidate.
With decades of experience, Dr. Fardad will make sure Liposuction is the right procedure for you, ensure you can visualize the procedure plan, and understand how the procedure will affect the holistic proportion of your body.
The Ideal Candidate
Ideal candidates for liposuction are in good overall health, are at or near their target weight, and are dedicated to maintaining their results through a healthy lifestyle, a balanced diet, and regular exercise.
While it is a great way to refine your body’s contours, it is not a substitute for weight loss. Significant weight gain after the procedure can accumulate fat in other areas, even though the fat is permanently removed.
Candidates with good skin elasticity typically achieve the most satisfying results, as this helps the skin adapt smoothly after fat removal.
The Procedure
Dr. Forouzanpour will make small incisions in the targeted area. A thin tube, known as a cannula, is inserted to lose excess fat. The fat is then suctioned out using a specialized vacuum device or syringe.
For most procedures, the tumescent technique is used. This involves injecting a saline solution, lidocaine (a local anesthetic), and epinephrine (to reduce blood loss and bruising) into the treatment area. The incision sites are usually closed by using sutures.
The procedure typically lasts 1-3 hours, depending on the number of areas treated.
Recovery
After the procedure, you will experience a small amount of drainage for the first 12 hours. Pain medications and antibiotics may be prescribed to manage potential swelling, bruising, and mild discomfort in the treated areas. Return to work varies from patient to patient depending on the number of sites treated, the type of work, and the amount of fat removed.
An elastic garment (corset) will be placed on the body after surgery to prevent excessive swelling and allow better shaping. The final shape and size reduction will not be noticeable for a few weeks after the surgery.
Avoid strenuous activities for at least 2-4 weeks.
